Jamie is an animal behaviourist and trainer, specialising in K-9 behaviour. He has worked with dogs for the past 10 years. Using only positive re-enforcement and well tuned instincts. His unique ability to connect with dogs at a deep level has led him to being in high demand to work with dogs with behavioural problems such as aggression, jumping on guests, house wetting, begging at the table, attacking other dogs or pets, incessant barking, etc.

Dogs just as humans suffer from psychological issues such as anxiety, fear, anger and depression. Getting to the root cause is essential in resolving the unwanted behavioural symptoms, instead of resorting to treatments such as muzzling or medicating. Jamie has a natural ability to know when there is just no other options for a dog, other than muzzles and meds. He states that: 'Just about every dog is able to be rehabilitated and returned to a natural, happy family life. Humans just give up too soon.'

Due to Jamie's ability to work with dogs who carry fear and anxiety from abuse and neglect he is also highly valued by community organisations - such as AfriPaw - working with rescued dogs who have been freed from owners who have mistreated them by activities such as dog fighting.

Jamie travels through out the Western Cape and bookings can be made on this site on the contact page.

When asking Jamie how he got involved in dog behaviourism his reply was as follows

"When I was 12 years old I was at my best friends house and his mom is very much a dog person, even having two rare breeds of dogs called the Basenji. They are known to be a bit of a difficult dog to get used to people who aren't their owner. But I've always had a very natural proclivity towards dogs and my best friends mom noticed that her dogs loved me and I was very good with them. She said to me "I think you should become a dog behaviourist one day, you are really good with dogs" ... which I didn't take as something I could do for a living but I did from then decide to self study dog behaviour, just out of personal intrigue. So at the age of 12 I began my, now 16 years of studying the behaviour of not just dogs, however I do have a passion for working with dogs and their owners. And after being in the film industry for years and often helping friends and friend's of friends with their dogs, in my very rare free time.

When someone convinced me that I should be doing this as my full time occupation because I am so good at it. And so I left film, to work with dogs full-time".
